(28 Sep 2018) Thursday's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh riveted Washington and the nation with hours of fiery, emotional testimony from the judge and Christine Blasey Ford, the woman accusing him of sexual assault when they were high schoolers.

AP Washington Bureau Chief Julie Pace describes the testimony: Ford was nervous, but composed. Kavanaugh was angry, taking aim at the Democrats and essentially blaming them for trying to block his nomination at the last minute.

"These were two witnesses in very high pressure situations both handling these situations very differently,'' Pace said.  "And both, I think for their supporters coming across as credible and probably not winning a ton of support from across the aisle."
