Colorado shooting suspect denounced 'all these Christians who hate gays'

The social media posts by a suspect in the STEM School Highlands Ranch shooting in Colorado included opposition to "Christians who hate gays," criticism of President Trump, and support for the left-wing Occupy Democrats.

On his now-deleted Facebook account, Devon Erickson, 18, posted: "You know what I hate? All these Christians who hate gays, yet in the bible, it says in Deuteronomy 17:12-13, if someone doesn’t do what their priest tells them to do, they are supposed to die. It has plenty of crazy stuff like that. But all they get out of it is ‘ewwwwww gays.'"

The other suspect in the shooting, which left one dead and seven wounded, has been identified as in court documents as Maya McKinney, a 16-year-old female who identifies as a transgender male and prefers to be called Alec.

Erickson appeared in court with long, busy hair, half of which was dyed purple. The judges ordered that no images of McKinney could be used by the media.

In 2016, Erickson shared a video of late-night host Seth Meyers criticizing President Donald Trump prior to the 2016 election, and had shared an Occupy Democrats post that praised President Barack Obama.

Far Left Youth, a group on Twitter using the handle @MarxFolks, tweeted that "one of our admins knew him personally" and that the shooter "had no love for socialism. What was done was evil and totally out of line with any leftist values."

Denver 7 reported that because the suspects were under age they stole two handguns from one of their parents. Kendrick Castillo, 18, was killed after charging one of the shooters during the attack. Eight other students were wounded.

Brendan Bialy, a senior who enlisted into the Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program, also charged the shooter and has been credited with stopping the attack.

Lawyers for the second suspect in the Colorado school shooting, Maya McKinney, who is listed in court records as a female, asked the court to use the pronoun "he."

The 16-year-old McKinney is transgender and was transitioning from female to male at the time of Tuesday’s shooting at the STEM School Highlands Ranch in Highlands Ranch, Colo., that left one student dead and eight others wounded. McKinney reportedly identifies as a male and goes by the name Alec.

He appeared in court Wednesday, shackled at the wrists and ankles. Arapahoe County District Attorney George Brauchler said that he still has not decided whether to charge McKinney as an adult. In Colorado, 16 is the youngest age that prosecutors can file adult charges.

McKinney is being held for murder and attempted murder, along with 18-year-old Devon Erickson. The two were arrested after students fought back on attempts to shoot up the school. The student who died, Kendrick Castillo, is being hailed as a hero after he was killed attempting to lunge at the gunman.

McKinney is due back in court on Friday.

Seems like SJW's and the Left can be shooters too? Hmm, CNN told me only right wing white men can. This isn't adding up...

President Trump issued a statement the day after the shooting, thanking first responders for "bravely intervening" and saying that he was in "close contact with law enforcement"

Police responded to the school two minutes after the first 911 call and a bomb disposal robot was brought to the school after tactical gear was found inside one of the suspects' vehicles.[12] A direct two-way radio link to Douglas County Sheriff's dispatch center is credited with the prompt response; the STEM School is one of only a few so equipped.

Before the police arrived, one of the shooters was subdued and disarmed by a group of students after another student lunged at the gunman and was shot dead while he was trying to protect his classmates.

so it was over before they even got there and started to unload the robot from the van. very brave indeed. Trump pointlessly sticks his foot in his mouth as usual.

SJW, RWNJ, bad guy with a gun, Islamic extremist.

this sounds like "confused teenagers" to me.

I don't think armed police, teachers, or private security can solve this problem.

sadly, this one turned out to be a Flight 93 scenario. I'm afraid that's the way it's going to be every time this happens.
